Uses: This product is used as a mordant for fabric dyeing, a bleach for silk and linen, a metal heat treatment agent, a corrosion inhibitor for electroplating, a chemical analysis reagent, a medically made vasodilator, an antidote for cyanide poisoning, a laboratory analysis reagent, as well as a raw material for concrete early strength agent and antifreeze, and for making potassium nitrite, nitro compounds, azo dyes, etc.

Storage and transportation: sodium nitrite should be stored in a low temperature, dry and ventilated warehouse. The doors and windows are tight to prevent direct sunlight. It can be stored in the same warehouse with other nitrates except ammonium nitrate, but separated from organics, inflammables and reducing agents, and isolated from ignition sources.
